Which became a lot of snow!

It just kept snowing and snowing yesterday! Audrey did get a great  nap, so afterwards, we went outside for a few more minutes. We need snow pants!

Meanwhile, Nick started heading home from work early, about 12:15. Little did either of us understand the breadth of this wintry situation. He didn't get in the door until nearly 5pm!! He was stuck for 4.5 hours on his entire drive home driving at no more than 3-5 miles an hour then entire way. I'm just glad he got home safely. So many people ended up stranded in their cars overnight and are still there, nearly 24 hours after the storm started! Crazy Georgia weather.

Here are a few shots of yesterday, and then today Daddy took Audrey out for awhile (notice all those pictures are taken from the angle of the back door, where I stayed nice and dry!!)

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!

More than a tiny bit of snow

Just after posting yesterday's post about the snow, I realized we had snow in the forecast, this time for real! It's coming down pretty hard and is supposed to stick around most of the day. While I love a good snow, I prefer to watch it in the great indoors while sipping hot cocoa. But instead I recited, "I am a good mother. I am a good mother. I am a good mother." and bundled us up to go play in it. Thankfully, Audrey is in a terrible mood today, and nothing is lasting very long, including the novelty of snow. So I got a few cute pics, and then we came inside to enjoy a little movie before hopefully taking The Longest Nap In The World. A mother can dream, right?

She could barely stand up in all her winter gear:

And then this happened, so we quit:

A tiny bit of snow

We've had some seriously cold temperatures this month, colder than I remember in recent years. But it hasn't snowed really at all, except for a few flurries here and there. One day, it snowed enough to dust the ground and Audrey was just fascinated. She didn't seem to care that it was below 20 degrees, she just wanted to play outside forever.

Amanda's baby shower

My mom and I planned a surprise baby shower for my sister, who is having her second boy in February. We totally surprised her, thanks in part to her hubby who is just as good a liar as I am.

One of her good friends made this beautiful (and extremely delicious) mocha cake.

 Surprise!

Science museum

One Friday, Nick decided to surprise us and took the day off work! Since we had the extra day with him, on Saturday we ventured out to a local science museum. Audrey loves dinosaurs, trains, and anything hands on, and this museum didn't disappoint.

For all the dinosaurs we saw, we kept telling Audrey the names of all of them. Every time, she would say, "No, that's a dinosaur!"

 Choo choo train!

Hands on part - she was too short for a lot, but loved pushing every button she could reach!

She also panned for treasures and dug for dinosaur bones, which she loved a lot. There were very few people there, so we we'll definitely go back another time!
