All
of September came and went and I didn't record a thing. In my defense, nothing
truly remarkable happened. Audrey has been enjoying school. I've been enjoying
my mornings running errands or just running alone. Most days are the same:
school, nap (thankfully they have come back for now), play outside when the
weather is nice. On Mondays and Fridays we spend time with friends and family
or just hang around the house.
Here
are a few fun pics and tidbits from the past month:
Audrey
is really into The Little House on the Prairie picture books, and in one, Ma
Ingalls makes the girls some pancake men. Audrey would ask me for pancake men
every time I read it, but the next morning when I offered to make one, she
would always say no. Finally I made them for dinner one night. She was
thrilled!
She
LOVES the outdoors. She has tons of "collections" of rocks and leaves
and sticks and daily asks to go on "treasure hunts" to find
more.
We went to Grandma's house one night when our air conditioning was broken. She was insistent upon packing her own suitcase and this is what she took to Grandma's:
She
loves playing with her friend Davis:
We
went to the fair this year for the first time with Audrey. She wanted to ride
all the roller coasters but with her height she was stuck on the kiddie rides,
which she enjoyed too.
She
had her first dentist appointment that she just loved. She charms people
everywhere she goes and is such a little people person.
At
my mom's school where she got to hear stories from her own personal librarian.
She tried to teach my sister's class too, writing gibberish on the board and
then telling everyone, "that's an A, boys."
Two
other funny Audrey stories: at church we had a visiting pastor who was very
boisterous in his preaching and got very animated. All of a sudden halfway
through the sermon, Audrey said (rather loudly) "calm down!! Calm.
Down." And motioned with her hands for him to do so. I don't think he heard
her but we sure got a kick out of it.
She
writes us notes on paper and they always say, "Dear You, Thank you for my
love." So cute!
Here are a couple other pics I've gotten recently. Reading with BG (bonus grandma):
Owl PJs, the current favorite attire:
So
that's the update. You're welcome, Joan, and if you'd set your alarm to go off
once a week and remind me to write, maybe I would. Or then again, maybe not. ;)
